Why I’m taking on the Long Run
From the time he was diagnosed at the age of 45, Dad was a vocal advocate for men with prostate cancer, and worked closely with the PCFA.
Participating in the Long Run meant a lot to him - so much so, that he raised over $2000 and reached a total of 80km (more than the 72km goal) whilst undergoing his own chemo treatment in 2022.
He was the strongest person I’ve ever had the privilege to know, and this year I’m participating in the Long Run for him.
As someone who’s family has been severely impacted by prostate cancer, I know how important the work that the PCFA do is. If you can afford to donate the cost of your coffee for the day, or even a little bit more - you can watch the effect of that money in real time, through the PCFA. Donate if you can, but if you can’t, encourage the men in your life to go get checked!
