I’m making prostate cancer history.
I’m taking on The Long Run
Hi, my name is John Brodie. Every day 70 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer, 72% of them will not seek mental health support during this difficult time. Yes, I was one of them.
I was diagnosed with
prostate cancer in May 2023 and that’s when my journey started. Foolishly, I did
not seek support or discuss my situation with anyone apart from my doctors so for me it was
a very lonely journey, which I do not recommend.
After the biopsy and PET scans I decided
to go for Radiation treatment which commenced on 18th March 2024 and
finished 17th April 2024. I have recently had a post radiation PSA blood
test and I was pleased to be cancer free.
This September is Prostate
Cancer Awareness Month, I’ll be helping go the distance for men with prostate
cancer and their loved ones by taking on The Long Run – challenging myself to
ride for 250km throughout September. 🚴♀️
By supporting my challenge,
you will be helping fund groundbreaking Australian research into better
treatments and care for men with prostate cancer.
